Petition Calls For McCain To Drop Reed

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Campaign Money Watch, which set off the criticism of John McCain’s upcoming fundraising event in Atlanta with Ralph Reed, is now trying to get more people involved with a petition that calls on McCain to back out of the event and not take any money that Reed manages to raise.

When you get a chance, give it a look and sign it – and then send it along to your friends and family! There’s only a few days left to make your voice heard on this one!

Time For An Investigation

Monday, August 11th, 2008

The questions surrounding some of the bundlers working for the McCain campaign are so numerous that Campaign Money Watch decided today it was time for the Department of Justice to get involved by launching an investigation into donations collected by both Harry Sargeant III and Hess Oil executives.

In a letter sent to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Campaign Money Watch Director David Donnelly said both stories are important:

To underscore the high stakes of these distinct cases, please consider that one matter involves a person who is a major political fundraiser whose company is entrusted with a billion dollar government contract. The other matter involves executives and employees for a major oil corporation – a corporation that would benefit tremendously from a specific change in governmental energy policy recently advocated by Sen. McCain.
